Roots & Origin
How Love Is Rad Began
I'm Tiana Baumsteiger - the founder and steward of Love Is Rad llc. With my sidekick Sandler, a retired Guide Dog for the Blind turned camp counselor, I've created spaces where kids, parents, caregivers, and families can grow in self-love, connection, and belonging.
Love Is Rad began as a simple dream: to bring more love to the world and create safe, empowering spaces where kids - especially girls - could discover confidence, self-trust, and emotional resilience. That dream became Rad Girls Rising, a summer camp where girls laugh, learn, build community, and grow stronger together.
A I watched the transformation that happened there, it became clear this work needed to reach even further - for boys too, and for the parents raising them. From that realization came Rad Boys Revolution and Rad Parenting, and now Rad Families, a space where we bring everyone together as a whole system.
At its heart, Love Is Rad is about unity through community, and empowering each person - child, parent, caregiver, and family - to rise together.
Our Guiding principles
Love Is Rad isn't based on quick fixes, one-size-fits-all formulas, or shame-based parenting advice. It's rooted in deep respect for individuality, nervous system awareness, and long-term emotional growth.

Who Sandler IS & Why He Matters
Sandler isn't just a mascot - he's a lived presence in this community. As a retired Guide Dog for the Blind turned camp counselor, Sandler brings a steady, calming energy to everything we do. His intuitive presence teaches what words sometimes can't: how to be grounded, how to feel safe, how to give and receive love, and how kindness feels in the body.
Campers and families often say his cuddles and quiet company are highlights - and that's because Sandler models relation before instruction, and presence before performance. He reminds us that support doesn't have to be loud, and connection doesn't require perfection.

From Calling to Community
What started as a calling - a dream to do good in the world - has grown into a movement of belonging, clarity, and transformation. That growth didn't happen by trying to do more. It happened by becoming clearer about what matters most: connection, regulation, and generational healing.
Today, Love Is Rad stands as a constellation of programs, workshops, coaching, and community offerings - each designed with the same root intention: to strengthen emotional literacy, connection, and resilience for the long haul.
